    Skin Allergies Internal Mix

1 lt. Bottle, Dose 10ml twice daily: $88.50
(Note: The cap from the bottle holds approx 10ml and the bottle will provide a 7 week course)

Skin problems are mainly initiated from the inside and therefore internal support treatments are necessary to completely resolve them and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Most often the initial reason for a chronic itch in a horse starting off with a sensitive skin is some sort of metabolic stress. This results in toxins being desposited under the skin out of the way of the main circulatory system. These toxins degrade the health of the skin locally. Then an external irritation is triggered by insect bites or rubbing and maybe perpetuated by mites or fungal infection taking up residence in the area where the skin has been injured.

This mix is aimed at reducing the sensitivity to all manner of irritation and allergy by dealing with the underlying causes rather than the external problem as such.

    Squamous Cell Carcinoma/ Melanoma

    External Treatment

25 ml. Bottle. Add to vaseline based Paw Paw ointment 10%: $18.50

We are sucessfully treating both Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Melanoma topically with an extract of Comfrey, Equisetum, Thuja and Maritime Pine, with homeopathic ingredients added, mixed into a vaseline based ointment. We prefer Paw Paw ointment containing approximately 5% Paw Paw extract.

This preparation is applied once or twice per day directly to the cancer itself.

Some home remedies, like fresh chickweed juice applied topically, seem to help in many cases but care should be exercised as this juice is highly irritant. It should never be used near sensitive tissues like around the eyes, lips, sheath, vagina or anal area.

    Internal Treatment

200 ml. Bottle. Dose 60 drops twice daily mixed in water: $76
(Note: The bottle, with dropper top provided, is sufficient for approximately 5 weeks)

The herbal prescription for internal use supports the immune system, the lymphatic system and process of rejecting the cancers which often fall off quite dramatically and, certainly almost always, reduce in size quite quickly.

I am always interested to follow up individual cases of equine cancer cases and encourage any client to discuss the progress of each case, with either myself or my staff, after the first month on treatment. To date, we have not come across cases of internal cancers in horses but, following the human and canine experience, it can only be a matter of time before internal cancers start presenting.

    Skin Healing Cream

500 gm Tub. Use sparingly: $52.50

The Skin Healing Cream is designed to follow first aid treatment of a wound, scrape or other damage to the skin.

When a wound is fresh, it is best to apply the Antiseptic Styptic to stop bleeding and protect against infection. Afterward the Skin Healing Cream protects against secondary fungal infection and promotes quick healing with minimal scarring.

This cream contains significant amounts of the herb Comfrey which has the capacity, with regular application, to actually reduce the amount of scarring. Comfrey assists in normalising cells and even scar tissue cells are renewed on a regular basis along with blood cells and bone cells. In the presence of Comfrey scar tissue can slowly be replaced, at least in part, by normal tissue.

    Skin Irritant Cream

1.0 kg Tub. Use sparingly: $88.50
    500 gm Tub. $52.50

Through our work with "Queensland Itch" I have developed treatment approaches to provide relief and healing to all types of chronic skin irritations which often involve fungal infestation. Most "Itch" is originally caused (again usually in horses with sensitive skin anyway) either by dietary or chemical problems or external parasites like mosquitoes and mites.

After the original irritant has gone the damaged skin is often infected with parasitic agents both fungal and bacterial which perpetuate the problem.

The skin irritant creams I prescribe contain agents to discourage the parasites and promote normal healing to break the cycle of the itch. Often through consultation we are able also to isolate the underlying causal factors and these are addressed with particular advice or treatment as required.
